It’s Alright To Grieve

Grieving is a natural process in life, and necessary to maintain balance. We all have experienced grief at some point in our lives. The loss of a loved one is the most common expression of grief. However, we often over look that we also can grieve the loss of a stable relationship, loss of a financial security such as a being downsized or fired from a job, relocating to a new state where you have no familiar support systems and maybe declining health.
Grief can be
debilitating if it goes on for an extended period of time without appropriately obtaining professional counseling.  One should never be ashamed or fearful to reach out for help in the grief process. Synergy Family Services provides experienced grief counselors that are available to assist individuals through the process. Good mental and emotional health are necessary in maintaining over wellbeing. Don’t suffer in silence there is help out there.
Be a Blessing to someone in need.

Why Not You?

The Key To Abundance

I’ve been participating in Arianna Huffington and The Mentors Channel Team 21 Day Challenge of Becoming Unfearful.. very intensive look at who and what you are right now and where and how you will get to where you want to be tomorrow.  We believe in staying green and growing at &, we invite you to contact us and participate in our workshops and trainings.

The Key to Abundance

Most of us know that abundance is not restricted to money. When we speak of abundance, we mean an abundance of health, of love, of energy, of patience, plus so much more. However, not having enough money is what brings up the most fear – in many people.
( (
Fear, in whatever form, is always limiting. There is a biblical passage that reads, “That which you fear is upon you.” In other words, fear becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Abundance begins with reminding yourself that there is no lack or limitation in the universe. There is enough money, enough love, enough time.

Then comes the second step – to live your belief by first giving out what it is you want. The word abundance comes from the Latin word which means ‘flow’. What does that tell us? It says to be abundant in any area of life, the first step is to start the flow. To get water from a pump, the pump has to be primed. So it is with abundance, in whatever form. Want more money in your life? Find a place to give. Want more love? Give love. Practice being in the flow and every good thing will come to you.
Any self-prompt that reminds you to focus on flow not ebb, contributes to your greater sense of abundance… – Sarah Ban Breathnach

To your wellbeing,
Arianna Huffington and The Mentors Channel Team.

Powerful Mantras for Healing

chokurei_byhandHealing is not necessarily cure. Healing we all need. Cure is much more complicated. Healing is within our grasp.

In Kundalini Yoga, there is a powerful mantra for healing. The way that it heals is to tune a soul to the vibration of the Universe, which is pure and without disease or pain.

Called the Siri Gaitri Mantra and more commonly known as Ra Ma Da Sa, it holds within it eight sounds that stimulate the Kundalini flow within the central channel of the spine for healing. It brings balance into the core of our energetic body and floods it with new energy.

Brain matter

Girl, Intoxicated

714 This weekend my brain decided to throw me another awesome little surprise in the form of a migraine.

I saw “another” because when I was 15 I started having these short 10-second episodes where I felt like I was rising out of my body. I would get 10 to 20 episodes a day, but never thought much of them, and never mentioned anything to my parents.

Eventually I was getting fewer, and by the time I was in college I was having them a couple times a year.

Within 6 months of my first ever “adult” job I had a grand mal seizure (in the office, during a meeting, awesome). At the ER the doctor informed me that I had had a seizure, and that she was required to report this to the Ministry of Transportation as they have to suspend my license until I can be cleared by a…

Songs that saved my life (Pt 1)

Music gives the mind the ability to travel. #www

You’ve probably experienced this yourself at some transitional point in life – listened to a song, and its melody and/or lyrics leapt out to fill your mind with stunned silence, that weird missed-step feeling of Fate having a hand between your shoulder blades. Regardless of its release date, that song would then become synonymous with a fragment of time when, for a few moments, you didn’t feel quite so unique, or so alone and unheard by the world, depending on how you viewed it.

This is how music has always underscored different aspects of my life. Each year, I’ll find at least one song/album which can define the overall mood based on events, or my mindset. It’s been an ongoing game for a while now, one I believe to be integral to building something like a rapport with the artists involved (though they’ll never know my shadow, of course.)

The Kids of Asemkow

Where in the world can I go today? #www

Ryan Bolton.

The kids in Ghana are full of life. In all of my travels, they are some of the most happiest, proud and beautiful kids I’ve ever met. And they love to have their photos taken as you will quickly see. I just returned from a 2 week stint photographing with Me to We in small villages along the ocean coast of Ghana. I was tagging along with a great bunch of high school students from Hunstville that were helping build a school for these very kids in Asemkow. The following is a first set of photos from the trip that I will publish. Many more to come.

For now, enjoy these happy faces of Ghana.

The history and future of the Universe in four minutes: Brian Greene at TED2014

TED Blog

Physicist Brian Green promises he will tell the audience at TED 2014 the whole history of the universe in four minutes. “Forgive me,” he says, “if I leave out a detail here or there.”

He does it with two metaphors. One from the beginning till now, and another from now till the end.

The universe today is 13.8 billion years old, and it can be very hard to get our minds around that number. So Greene uses a metaphor pioneered by Carl Sagan. Imagine that we’re part of a single calendar year. All of cosmic history compressed into a single calendar year. On this calendar:

  • May 12, the Milky Way is formed.
  • Sept 2nd, the Earth is formed.
  • 11:40pm New Year’s Eve, Humans evolve.
  • 11:44pm, we domesticate fire.
  • 11:58pm the first cave paintings are made.
  • 11:59:49pm writing is developed, so all of recorded history takes place…
